GUWAHATI: Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who at present busy to prepare herself for the forthcoming AIBA World Boxing Championship, said that she would try her best to win a medal for the country. The preparatory camp of the Indian team is currently going on in New Delhi and the championship will be held at the same venue from November 15.

Lovlina along with another boxer from Assam Bhagyabati Kachari are among the boxers who are selected in the Indian team for the forthcoming championship. Lovlina will participate in the 69kg category while Bhagyabati will contest in 81kg.

Lovlina looks confident for a good show in the tournament. “After returning from Poland I am concentrating only on the World Championship.

Even I didn’t visit my home during Durga Puja. I narrowly missed a medal in the Commonwealth Games but at any cost, I want to win a medal from the World championship. I am ready to sacrifice everything for it, said the boxer.”

It may be mentioned here that Lovlina won a bronze medal in the recently concluded 13th International Silesian Championship for Women which was held in Poland. The performance helped her to cement her place in the Indian team for the forthcoming World Championship.
