IAY beneficiaries deprived of full housing grant

BOKAKHAT, August 27:  Around 23 beneficiaries of Kuruabahi Gaon Panchayat in Bokakhat subdivision had been sanctioned IAY housing grant of Rs75,000 and the construction work started in April, 2014.

The beneficiaries got Rs 18,500 and Rs 20,000 as first and second installment.  It has been alleged that the remaining Rs. 36,000 has not yet been released by the department concerned. As a result, the construction work had to be stopped and the beneficiaries are living in sheds since two years.
