IBSD bags India's Sustaibility Leadership Award 2015

IMPHAL, Dec 2: Prof Dibandhu Sahoo, Director of Institute of Bioresources and Sustaible Development (IBSD) has received the prestigious ‘India’s Sustaibility Leadership Award’ for the year 2015 at a glittering function held at Hotel Taj, Bandra in Mumbai. He was chosen amongst the 50 most infuential sustaibility leaders for his outstanding contribution in the field of Bioresources and Sustaible Development, a press release informed. The award which was part of initiative launched by the Chief Minister of Maharastra Devendra Fadvis in the year 2015 attracted a large number of people from different walks of lives While receiving the award, Prof. Sahoo mentioned that northeast of India is a hotspot for unique biodiversity and has lot of scope for sustaible development. He further said that northeast region of India has a very sensitive and fragile ecosystem but full of tural resources which is blended with unique culture. He urged the industry leaders present in the function to visit northeast specially to Manipur to explore the possibilities for setting up of infrastructure and bioresources based industries so that it can create large number of jobs in the region, the release said.
