ICDS workers take out rally in Silchar

Silchar, Aug 18: More than 150 workers and helpers, in uniform, of Integrated Child Development Services, Binkandie, took out a rally, with banners and posters, from Binkandie Ghat to Barak Bridge, PWD road on August 17, in order to pay homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of the country’s freedom struggle. They remembered the great leaders and freedom fighters with reverence who helped the country to win freedom from the British colonial rule.

 L Kabung, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Binkandie, supervisors, Mini Mahanto and Vanda Singh, all said that at every Anganwadi, it is essential to impart proper education, health services and good food for the children. They also emphasized on the need to keep the environment neat and clean.

 A 3-day drive on some relevant issues has also been organized under Binkandie ICDS project to keep an eye on cases related to atrocities on women, plantation of saplings and cleanliness. It has discussed at a meeting conducted by the CDPO on the same day. They have been observing I-Day from August 12 and will continue to do so till August 23.
