ID Chess begins

GUWAHATI, March 30: 40th All Assam Inter District Chess Championship (Under-11 & 7), organized by Guwahati Chess Association, started today at South Point School, Guwahati.  In Under-11 category top seed Sahil Dey of Guwahati beat Bhringish Kalita While second seed Pragyan Jyoti Das of Dibrugarh beat Bigyan Chakma of Kamrup (Rural). Third seed Ashvin Sharma of Guwahati also won his game against Jatin Ajitsaria. 
In U-11 girls category top seed ndika Sahu of Dibrugarh beat Moithalee Gogoi of Sivasagar while second seed Unmilita Pathak of Guwahati beat yanika Prusti of Kamrup (Rural). Alslesha Talukdar, also of Guwahati, beat Nisrin biha Ahmed of Dibrugarh. In Under-7 cetegory top seed Mrinmoy Rajkhowa beat Farhan Tanvir of Guwahati in the first round while second seed Abhraneel Buragohain of Dibrugarh beat Gaurab P Barman of Guwahati. In under-7 girls Afshin Afsha Zaman of Guwahati is in two points from 2 rounds while Hridika Das of Guwahati and Anoushka Bharadwaj of Lakhimpur are scored 1 point each from same number of rounds.
Altogether 99 players from different parts of the state are participating in the meet which was iugurated by Manoranjan Basumatary, President, Guwahati Chess Association. Devajit Sarma, Vice President, Guwahati Chess Association and Rajib Dhar, Secreraty, All Assam Chess Association, were also present in the opening ceremony.
