ITANAGAR, July 5: Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) has condemned the announcement to repeal the anti-conversion law in the state by Chief Minister (CM) Pema Khandu. “We don’t support the announcement made by the CM to repeal the Anti-Conversion law. We have submitted a memorandum to the governor in this regard but could not meet CM as he is out of state,” IFCSAP President Tajom Taung told the reporters here. The Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act-1978, which was enacted to safeguard the ethnic tribal’s from the marginalization of other established religion, should not be taken in granted. “We always term loss of culture is a loss of identity so there should be a protection to the indigenous tradition, faith & culture,” Tajom added.
