IGSSS distributes country boats for rescue operation

Lakhimpur, August 1: Indo Global Social Service Society (IGSSS), an NGO, with support of HDFC bank distributed 12 units of country boats among the flood affected village population in Chauldhuwa ghat as relief for future critical flood situation in North Lakhimpur.

Tarun Sonowal of IGSSS, Promud Pegu, Uttar Khabolu Anchalik TMPK president, Dharani Payeng, assistant mager- programme and Rajen Saikia, Project Officer were present the distribution.

“Although government provides relief like rice, pulses and salt, we appreciate IGSSS for such initiatives and we are grateful to HDFC Bank for their fincial support for providing us these country boats which will help us during the flood. Many human lives will be saved with the help of these boats. We can use these country boats during the flood to rescue people to safety,” said a villager.

“The prime aim of IGSSS is to provide help and reduce the risk of loss of human lives in the flood. As an non- government organization it is not possible to incur all the fincial expenses so we are unconditiolly grateful to HDFC Bank for their support for helping these flood-affected people,” said Tarun Sonowal.
