KOKRAJHAR, September 23: A peace rally was brought out by the Indo Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) in Kokrajhar town on Wednesday with an aim of restoration of peace in conflict-vulnerable areas of Bodoland Territorial Council and Karbi Anglong district in Assam. The programme officer of the IGSSS Karishma Sharma said the peace rally was brought out in Kokrajhar for re-establishment of peace as Kokrajhar was one of the conflict zones where people had suffered a lot due to frequent unrest. She said 52 women from Kokrjahar and Chirang Shanti Mahila Committee had held the rally synchronizing with the Intertiol Peace Day post observation with the message ‘Let’s give peace a chance’. She also said the society had been working for peace in the conflict-hit districts to bring faith, understanding and peace among all sections of people.
