IIM Shillong remembers Kalam

From A Reporter

SHILLONG, Oct 15: Cherishing the ever-lasting bond with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, the Indian Institute of Magement (IIM), Shillong organised a commemorative programme in his memory on Sunday.

Kalam had died while delivering a lecture at the institute on July 27, 2015 from apparent cardiac arrest. The institute continues to treasure its affiliation with Dr Kalam who was its guest lecturer.  Marking the day, the institute organized a shradhanjali, where people from all walks of life were invited to pay tributes to the “Missile Man of India” and remember his impactful life and rich legacy. The IIM witnessed scores of people coming to pay homage to the great leader, remembering his ideas and imagition for India’s future.

The students came together to create a mosaic of Kalam.  In a bid to thank the soldiers on this very special day, the students and the faculty of IIM Shillong wrote postcards to the sentinels of the tion, the armed forces, thanking them for their service. The postcards were subsequently presented to the men posted at Assam Rifles here.
