The association filly submitted a memorandum to the Sub Divisiol Officer drawing serious exception to the illegal business thriving in the area under the nose of the administration.

The Bokajan area is along the border with neighbouring State galand and there has been a significant rise in numerous illicit businesses - from illegal coal mining to improper distribution of PDS commodities, from prostitution to illegal liquor trade, from illegal sand mining to the illegitimate taxation system and many more. The memorandum also stated the forest department’s alleged failure to put a check on the unrestricted mining operations of coal in the subdivision even after the Supreme Court’s blanket ban on coal mining, especially in Karbi Anglong.
