Illegal coal trade should be stopped immediately, demands AJYCP

MARGHERITA, September 15: Despite Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal’s  strict direction to stop illegal coal trade at Ledo, Barogolai, Tirap and Tikak Colliery in Margherita region and Kharsang Changlang district of Aruchal Pradesh,  illegal coal trade is still rampantly going on.

Everyday trucks full of illegal coal pass through Margherita town and Margherita administration remains a mute spectator. Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP)  Margherita Regiol Committee president Salil Neog and general secretary Kanchan Bora recently submitted a deadline letter to Margherita SDO(C) to take action against notorious coal mafia S N Agarwal who is allegedly running illegal coal trade from Kharsang Changlang district of Aruchal Pradesh. “We demand that illegal coal trade should be stopped at Ledo, Baragolai, Tikak and Tirap Coal areas of Margherita region and Kharsang Changlang district of Aruchal Pradesh, otherwise we will intensify our agitation in the coming days,” said Salil Neog and Kanchan Bora.
