Illegal encroachment by police personnel

GUWAHATI, July 30: Some officials of Assam Police and Kamrup DC office have encroached upon land in Soighuli and Hirimbapur areas in the city, creating problems for people traveling on the road, the local people alleged. The local people said: "Some police officials encroached upon land of the road in the area on the pretext of making a temple. They illegally use electricity in their houses. They also harassed the local people by disposing dirty water to the road. They also collect money forcibly from people in the me of Puja. We informed authority concerned of this  but to little avail.”
