Illegal liquor seized at Tamalpur

Tamulpur, Dec 21: Tamulpur administration on Wednesday launched an operation against illegal liquor along the Indo-Bhutan border and various places of Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa.

A team led by Circle Officer of Tamulpur revenue circle, Arun Kumar Brahma, along with the Excise department seized a large quantity of Bhutan-made liquor from uuthorized restaurants and shops from Darrangamela, Ganeshguri and Jamuguri. The seized liquor was destroyed in front of public at about 2 pm at Jamuguri and in the premises of Tamulpur circle office.

The operation is against illegal sale of foreign liquor by uuthorized persons. Extensive operation is going on against such illegal vendors to stop anti-social activities in Tamulpur area.
