Illegal structures built to claim compensation: YOMA

Itagar, March 13: Drawing the Chief Secretary’s attention towards the construction of illegal structures for sake of claiming compensation along Trans-Aruchal Highway (TAH), Youth Organisation Movement of Aruchal Pradesh (YOMA) today claimed that more than 150 OBT buildings were erected overnight at Joram, Deed, Raga and Ziro in Lower Subansiri district.

“With a malafide intention to be paid handsome compensation, these houses were constructed overnight” YOMA complained in a letter to Chief Secretary.

It also added that illegal practice of malicious people causes inconvenience to travellers claiming that haphazard earth cutting is going on.

The organisation requested the CS not to compensate the individuals indulging in illegal construction along proposed TAH. It also claimed that due to illegal construction, the compensation amount is increasing every day.

Earlier Aruchal Pradesh PWD minister Gojen Gadi had admitted in the floor of state Assembly on the involvement of officers up to the rank of deputy commissioner in instigating people to construct illegal structures along the TAH for claiming huge compensation.
