Illegal wood seized

Bongaigaon, April 2: Chirang district police on Saturday seized a truck (NL-07-B-2198) carrying illegal wood in NH-31 at Dahalapara area of Chirang district.  A police source said that the truck was laden with Sida wood worth around Rs 3 lakh.  “Driver Abdul Halim (26) and handyman Rahman Badshah (22) were arrested by police and interrogation has started. The truck was coming from Jharbari Patgaon area of Kokrajhar district to Salabila of Barpeta district,” the source said.
