Iman Chakraborty stuns Silchar

Silchar, March 20: Music lovers of Silchar were taken by surprise when Iman Chakraborty, a Kolkata based singing sensation rendered some of the most beautiful songs at a musical night titled ‘Ek Sandhya Eka Iman’ organized by the newly floated socio cultural organization Rhythm at Rajiv Bhawan on Sunday evening. Her oeuvre comprises songs of Rabindrath Tagore, Baul, devotiol numbers, folk songs and contemporary songs.  Iman Chakraborty, winner of the tiol Award for the song ‘Tumi Jake Valo Basho’, kept the audience spellbound.

The event began with lighting of the auspicious lamp by renowned orthopaedic Dr Rajdeep Roy. It was followed by two beautiful dance items, one choreographed by Saumitra Shankar Choudhury and the other by Bidhayak Bhattacharjee and Madhumita Bhattacharjee. The amount collected from the event would be used for provision of potable drinking water for primary students in the remote areas. This noble initiative was highly appreciated by all present.
