IMC to launch garbage collection

Itagar, June 8:The Itagar Municipal Council (IMC) is planning to start door to door garbage collection in A, B and P sectors of Itagar from June 9 every alterte day on experimental basis.

In this regard, raincoats, gumboots, gloves and mask were distributed to all the sanitary staffs of IMC in a small function held at the DC's office here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Capital DC Sandeep Kumar Singh informed that if door to door collection of garbage becomes successful, it will be implemented in the entire Capital Complex.

Seeking cooperation of all the denizens of Capital Complex to the campaign successful, the DC further requested them to come out and hand over the garbage when the vehicles with sanitary staffs come rather than throwing it on the roads.

The DC also asked the sanitary staffs to work with dedication and give their 100 percent stating that they have a big role to play in keeping the city clean. He also asked them not to compromise with their work as effective manpower is the need of the hour.

Chief Municipal Executive Officer, Habung Lampung stressed that cleanliness of the city is force of the Municipality.

"If we keep our city clean, our force will also look more beautiful and for that, we all have to rededicate ourselves more sincerely to works and asked the staffs to take it as a challenge" the CMEO said.

IMC's Empowered Standing Committee members, Tatung Tania and Gora Tallang were also present during the programme.

The door to door garbage collection is currently functiol in E sector, harlagun.
