IMFL looted

TINSUKIA, Dec 22: A gang of 6-7 miscreants looted 103 cartoons of IMFL from a truck while it was parked in front of Eastern Bond owned by Kailash Jalan, a family member of the Jalans involved in the multi-crore liquor scandal, at Laipuli on AT Road in Tinsukia during wee hours of Wednesday. According to Excise department sources, the miscreants overpowered the driver of the truck-AS-01-FC 2576 which was carrying 500 cartoons and loaded in another Di 207 vehicle and fled from the scene under the cover of darkness after staff from the liquor shop raised alarm. The value of the looted liquor is around Rs 4 lakh. Intriguingly, none noticed the vehicle number. A case has been registered in Panitola OP.
