Importance of mental health awareness underlined

KALIABOR, Oct 22: The Department of Education, Kaliabor College, in collaboration with the LGB Regiol Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur organized a lecture programme on the topic ‘Mental Health Awareness and Counseling’ on Saturday at Kaliabor College.

 Anjali Chutia, Head of the Education Department, delivered the iugural speech of the programme. Dr. Bhanu Borthakur, Associate Professor, Department of Education, anchored the whole programme by introducing the resource persons as well as explaining the purpose of the programme. Dr. Hiranya Kr. Chaliha, Principal, Kaliabor College offered his welcome address by giving stress on importance of mental health awareness in context of the present day.

Dr. Kamal rayan Kalita, Associate Professor, LGBRIMH, Tezpur gave his valuable speech highlighting the main topic as well as its importance in academic institution. Dr. Hemanta Dutta, Junior Resident, LGBRIMH, Tezpur also addressed the adolescent problems as well as suicide attempt. Dr Bhanu Borthakur concluded the programme by offering vote of thanks. Active participation of faculty members as well as students of the college made the programme successful.
