Dibrugarh: The Charter of the Toastmasters Club of Dibrugarh, which is a part of the famed Toastmasters International, was held on Saturday evening amidst much finesse.
Standing true to the spirit of the event, members of the club touched upon the importance of public speaking and communication skills. They did not just speak theoretically, but also demonstrated the same. In fact, a competition was held among a group of selected members on public-speaking skills. Different topics were allotted to each of them, who spoke with great confidence within the stipulated time. Their speeches were monitored by individual mentors who had the task of observing, evaluating and providing feedback to the participants cut out for them. Valuable suggestions, including effective use of the stage, proper use of diction and use of the right vocabulary and idioms, were given by the monitors.
Chief guest for the event, Kalpana Khound spoke on the importance of having such a forum and also congratulated all the speakers for their articulation and presentation skills. Gunjan Saharia, Principal of Shree Agrasen Academy, also echoed the significance of public speaking and spoke highly of the speakers.
