DIBRUGARH, June 25: In a bid to sensitize the defaulting borrowers who have erred on repaying their bank loans timely, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB) Tinsukia Branch under Dibrugarh Region on Thursday organized a road show on the streets of Tinsukia.

The rally, organized by AGVB Tinsukia Branch, was also attended by Rukunuddin Ahmed Regiol Mager, AGVB Dibrugarh Regiol Office. Iugurating the rally, he briefed the gathering about the importance of repayment of loans. He spoke about the role AGVB was playing towards improving the agricultural credit and uplift of the rural economy. But at the same time he cautioned regarding the irregular repayment of loans which actually was posing a hurdle for the banks.

He said, “Flow of funds is a cyclic process which can be ensured only if borrowers are regular in their repayment so that the future generations can benefit.” “If funds are not recycled timely by way of repayment they become uvailable for the posterity, thus collapsing the whole process of credit disbursement”, he said.  He further added that there were several stringent measures that banks could initiate against defaulting borrowers but AGVB had taken this soft measure to sensitize the borrowers so that they could realize the importance of timely repayment of loans so that the whole process of credit disbursement as well as recovery became a smooth process.

The rally ended with a few minutes of sit-in in front of the premises of a few defaulting borrowers and handing them over reminder notices by Kusha Ram Saikia, Senior Mager AGVB Tinsukia Branch.
