Incessant rain causes flood in Gohpur

GOHPUR, June 13: The incessant rain of Tuesday night created havoc in Gohpur subdivision. As the result of heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Chatrang river could not hold the strong flow of water coming from hilly stream and on Wednesday, several areas of the subdivision like Rangpur, Ashrabari and Gopalbasti were submerged in water. The linkage road of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh was destroyed due to overflowing water of Chatrang river near Gopalbasti. About 20 villages have affected in this flood so far. However, it has been raining incessantly since Tuesday night. Thus, the administration has prepared for handling any type of critical situation cause by flood. Already the civil administration has taken necessary steps for providing relief and other assistance.
