Incessant rainfall, water logging affect normal life in Tangla

From a Correspondent

TANGLA, June 23:  Incessant rainfall since early morning on Thursday totally paralyzed normal life in Tangla town.

The rain resulted in water logging in various localities of Wards No.3 and 4. The areas under Ward No.4 were submerged in knee-deep water, causing inconvenience to people, especially students. The road connecting Tangla Forest Beat Office to MB Road was also submerged in knee-deep water

In Ward No.3, areas like Babupara, Subaspalli and Palpara were worst-hit with sticky mud and water making life miserable for the residents.  The construction of Hospital Road, the foundation stone for which was laid by EM Jagadish Sarkar months back, has yet not started. As per sources, every ward of the town should get 20 trailers of pebbles but hardly three-four trailers of pebbles were distributed in lanes of each ward. The irate local residents who are liable to pay town committee taxes to the Tangla Town Committee have expressed grave concern over the poor road condition.
