GUWAHATI, Feb 6: Shishu Sarothi organized a two-day “Inclusive Annual Sports” event which saw the participation of over 100 children from Shishu Sarothi. School like Assam Valley also participated in this inclusive sports event.
The event flagged off on Monday and ended today at the Latasil playground. It was iugurated by Aru Rajoria, Mission Director of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Assam. Rajoria was glad to interact with the children and their parents and had a memorable time playing a game of bocce with our children.
All the children had a joyous time engaging in various inclusive sports such as Bocce, running race, wheelchair race, assistive walking, breaking the pot, balloon play and UDL (Universal design of learning) musical chair, soft ball throw and inclusive cricket.
Co scholastics and persol social qualities play an important role in the holistic development of children. And sports are vital to ensure the holistic development of children as it fosters their physical, social and emotiol health. It helps with their motor skills development and inculcates social skills as well. This event was organized in an attempt to recognize such needs of a child and was celebrated in the true spirit of inclusion with the aim to acknowledge and celebrate diversity.
The event was concluded with an award distribution ceremony where all the winners were recognized and awarded for their excellent performances. This sport event was supported by SC Johnson products Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Azim Premji Philantropic Initiative (APPI) & Regiol Action for Inclusive Education, North East (RAISE-NE).
