SHILLONG, Oct 19: The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) today demanded that the government through the education department should immediately increase the salary of  4th teachers in Upper Primary Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) Schools. "We have come here today to meeting with the Education Minister R. C Laloo requesting him that the concern department should increase the salary of the 4th teachers in Upper Primary (SSA) Schools," MK Raswai President Meghalaya SSA School Association told newsmen here on Monday. He informed that since the implementation of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) altogether four teachers have been appointed in all Upper Primary SSA Schools by the School Maging Committee as per the instructions of the Education Department. He said that Education Minister during their meeting was uble to give them any assurance to increase the salary of the 4th teachers in SSA schools. However the Minister has told them that he will be taking the matter with the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma who is also in-charge of Fince and Planning. "We want the Minister in-charge Education R. C Laloo to revise the pay of all the 4th teachers in SSA Schools so that it will be uniform with the other three teachers before 20th December 2015," he said.
