'Increasing dependence on information technology eroding moral values'

Dibrugarh, July 4: Janeta Ramesh Chandra Baruah Smriti Raksha Samiti (JRCBSRS) celebrated the 105th birth anniversary of Janeta Ramesh Chandra Barua at the auditorium of ‘Keteki’ with a memorial lecture and felicitation programme. The programme started with the lighting of traditiol lamp before the portrait of the Janeta by Ila Duwara. Nilima Bordoloi also presented a Borgeet  to mark the occasion.

The function was presided over by JRCBSRS executive president, Bhudev Phukan. Senior citizen, former  mnister and a seasoned politician, Indeswar Khound, noted sports persolity Pradyut  Roy Chowdhury and noted artist, Principal of the Chowlkhowa Music College, Dr Dilip Ranjan Borthakur were felicitated with the prestigious  citizen award, sports award and artist award respectively. The award comprises of a memento, citation, and a traditiol seleng chadar.

The memorial lecture was delivered by noted educationist and prolific writer, Dr Mukul Chandra Sarma. In his speech, Dr Sharma stated that erosion of moral values was witnessed among members of the new generation  because of the ever-increasing dependence on information technology by them.
