BOKAKHAT, October 27: The indefinite closure of NRL Marketing Termil on October 28 by Numaligar Refinery Oil Tanker Association has been postponed as the authority of Numaligarh Refinery has come forward to have talks with the Association.
Deputy Mager Bhaskarjyoti Phukan, Senior Mager (HR) Mintu Handique , Chief Mager Monoj Pegu and Mager Biswajit Bora of the Refinery had a talk with the members of the Tanker Association and assured the members that they would consider their demands favourably. The Association demanded assurance of transportation of petroleum products and crude materials through tankers. The first talk between them ended on a positive note and it was decided to hold the second round of talks in presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat to find a permanent solution to the matter.
The Tanker Association expressed gratitude to AASU, AATSA, AJYCP, Numaligarh Refinery Petroleum Mazdoor Union, Drivers Association and Panka Development Committee for supporting their agitation programme.
