DIPHU, Jan 23: The different organization like Karbi Students’ Association (KSA),
Karbi Youth Development Organization (KYDO), Karbi Farmers’ Association (KFA), All Karbi Youth Union (AKYU), United Farmers’ Committee (UFC) and Karbi Unemployed Association (KUA) has called an indefinite Karbi Anglong bandh from 5 pm of January 24 in
protest against the Central Government’s announcement to grant ST (H) status to Bodos living in Karbi Anglong.
The leaders of the organization said that autonomous state was their long-pending which was yet to be fulfilled and the government continued to turn a deaf ear to this demand. On the contrary, the government was ready to grant ST (H) status to Bodos living in the district which was not acceptable until and unless the demand for autonomous state was met.
