Indefinite strike begins

MARGHERITA, April 25: The employees of Sumeo Coal Mining Private Ltd at Tikok Colliery, North Eastern Coal Fields (NECF), Margherita declared indefinite strike on April 21 and demanded immediate fulfilment of their demands. There are a total of 120 employees engaged at Sumeo Coal Mining Private Ltd. They alleged that they were made to work for more than 12 hours a day. Although production had increased, the permanent employees were getting all the benefits while they were allegedly being deprived. They have demanded release of pending salary.
