Indefinite strike by students deferred to Feb 27

ITAGAR, Feb 24: The proposed indefinite strike in support of the demand for a regular director at North East Regiol Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) has been deferred to February 27 next. The February 24 proposed strike by All Aruchal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) and Students' Union of NERIST (SUN) has been postponed following a decision taken at a joint meeting of both the organizations. AAPSU vice president (Administration) Meje Taku said that the decision was taken in the wake of the ensuing Nyokum Yullo festival that is being observed State-wide.

"So far we have received only assurances and nothing in written regarding our demand for a regular director for NERIST. The strike will go on till our demand is fulfilled", he said.
