Independence Day soccer from Aug 13

GUWAHATI, July 20: Udayan Kristi Sangha will organize 19th Independence Day Cup soccer tourment at Lokhra from August 13. Ramen Das, the sports secretary of the Sangha, today informed the media in a press conference that altogetehr16 teams from Assam and Meghalaya will take part in the championship. Champion team will receive cash award of Rs 25,000 while the runners up team will collect a purse of Rs 15,000. Apart from that there will be cash incentive for the individual award winners also which included best goalkeeper, best player of the meet and highest goal scorer.The media briefing was also attended by secretary and vice president of the Sangha Hemanta Kalita and Prabin Das respectively.
