India-Chi troops hold border personnel meeting

GUWAHATI, March 15: A scheduled Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) was conducted on Tuesday at Chinese BPM Hut in Damai, stated a press release.

Indian delegation was led by Colonel Dheeraj Kotwal and Colonel Gao Jian Ming led the Chinese delegation.

The BPM commenced by saluting the tiol Flag of both countries.  This was followed by address by both delegation leaders in which both sides highlighted the importance of such meeting between border guarding troops towards maintence of peace and tranquility along Line of Actual Control (LAC).   The Border Personnel Meeting mechanism in Kibithu - Damai Sector is a positive step towards enhancing interaction between the border guarding troops of the area.  

The delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. The delegations parted amidst the feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing        co-operation and maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).   

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the agreements and protocols signed between the governments of the both sides to maintain peace and tranquility along the borders.
