'India convinced of Oli's decision power'

Kathmandu, March 15: Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar on Tuesday said New Delhi has great confidence in Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli’s decision power.

Jaishankar urged Oli to carry ahead the works upon which Nepal and India have agreed in the past but which remain stalled, a daily reported.

India wishes to assist Nepal in stability and development as New Delhi would also benefit from the country’s development, he said.

The Indian foreign secretary is on official visit to Nepal to attend the Saarc foreign ministers’ meeting taking place in Pokhara.

On his part, Oli said Nepal expects India’s cooperation in its development endeavours as Kathmandu enters into the economic development phase.

Oli reiterated that the Nepal government was committed to not allowing its territory be used against any neighbouring country.

Bilateral relations have further strengthened between India and Nepal as a result of his visit to New Delhi last month, the prime minister said.

Oli said there was no political problem in the country at present, and that the government was committed to seeking out solution through dialogue even if there were any problems. (IANS)
