Haflong: If Indigenous People’s Forum (IPF) People are not invited for talks at Dispur as promised by the Minister before August 12, the IPF is going to organize indefinite bandh from August 13, this was communicated to the Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal by a letter through the Deputy Commissioner on Thursday.

The letter signed by president, L Kuki, working president,. S Jeme and general secretary, V Varte maintained that during the visit of the Group of Ministers (GoM) at Haflong, minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 9 promised to invite us to Dispur between July 20 and July 25 to solve the demand of the IPF in his presence. But with utter dismay and disappointment, the invitation for talks did not materialize in spite of the readiness of the IPF community. Previously the same thing happened before as minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma failed to meet them even after 2 months of his promised date. They also earnestly urged to consider the case and decide accordingly.
