Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Observes Anti-Terrorism Day

GUWAHATI: The 33rd bn Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) observed Anti-Terrorism day on May 21, 2019 at its office complex, Six Mile, Guwahati. Anti-Terrorism day is observed on May 21 every year to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who succumbed to the bomb blast targeted against him by the terrorists of LTTE.

Fayaz Khan, Second-in-Command of the unit took the pledge and administered the same to all the Officers and Jawans. The officer in his speech stated that the objective behind the observance of Anti-Terrorism Day is to wean away the people from terrorism, to spread the message of peace and humanity, to promote unity among the people by planting seed of unity, to provide education and training to the youngsters, this will prevent them from joining different terrorist groups.

He also emphasized to generate awareness in the country among all sections of society so that every citizen should view terrorism on a negative note and fight against it. Anti-terrorism pledge was followed by a debate competition on the topic “Dangers of Terrorism to Humankind”. The winners were felicitated by Fayaz Khan, Second-in-Command, a press release stated.
