Indradhanush Mission launched

SHILLONG, April 2: Meghalaya Minister for Health & Family Welfare AL Hek launched the Indradhanush Mission at Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills district today. The programme was being organized by the office of the District Medical & Health Officer, (DHMO) West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin.

Speaking on the occasion, Hek reminded the local people that there is a lot of improvement of development in West Khasi Hills district. He also urged upon the headman, NGOs, local youths and people as a whole to extend cooperation with the government in implementing this programme.

He further called upon the parents to get their children immunized through this mission in the various PHCs and CHCs set up by the State Government.

Others who spoke on the function included MR Synrem, Mission Director, tiol Health Mission, Meghalaya, W Mawsor, MLA, Mawthengkut, Dr P Chyne, State Immunization Officer, District Medical & Health Officer, Nongstoin, Dr TS Nongkhlaw, local MDC, LG Nongsiej and Dr WW Phira, Additiol District Medical & Health Officer delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme was chaired by PD Sangma, Additiol Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills, district.
