Injury comeback will bolster Arsel’s title push: Wenger

London, Jan 10: With Arsel Football Club perched at the top of the points table, mager Arsene Wenger believes that the return of his injured players back will further bolster their chances of winiing the English Premier League (EPL) title. Arsel are currently on 42 points from 20 matches, two ahead of second placed Leicester City.

The London–based outfit face a tough test in their next EPL fixture with an away trip to Liverpool on Wednesday. But with several players making their comebacks from injury lay–offs and the impending signing of Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny has made Wenger confident that his team are ready to push for their first EPL title in more than a decade.

"I believe that the next step is to get (Tomas) Rosicky back, (Danny) Welbeck back, (Alexis) Sanchez back, (Jack) Wilshere back and maybe we will get one player in," the 66–year–old Frenchman was quoted as saying by the Independent newspaper on Sunday. "Overall, I think we have no new injuries so I’m not worried. If we had the same number of injuries we would be a bit short."

Although Wilshere and Welbeck may not be back until the end of February, Sanchez and Rosicky could return for the EPL tie away to Stoke City next Sunday. Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta returned in the 3–1 FA Cup win over Sunderland on Saturday.

Young Spanish right–back Hector Bellerin did well, and set up two goals in the second half. Wenger said after the match that the 20–year–old is one of the best full–backs in the English top flight. IANS
