Inquiry ordered into Binod Phangsu's killing

GOLAGHAT, January 12: An inquiry has been ordered into the killing of Binod Phangsu, the Officer in-Charge of Barpathar Police Station in Golaghat district. The police officer was killed in Chungajan on Sunday night by suspected car lifting gang. But circumstances  raised confusion among the police and public. Vinod Phangsu, along with his team, were inside his Bolero when the attack took place. The attack was said to be from the front side but bullets were found in the back of the body of the officer which was mysterious. Even allegations were raised against the police being involved in the incident. Keeping this in view, a probe has been ordered. The Sub Divisiol Police Officer of Dhansiri Subdivision, D Baruah will investigate the whole matter. This was stated by Additiol SP of Golaghat, Numal Mahato. The SDPO’s investigation report will clear all the confusion, he said.
