Insult to Aruchal: PPA

Itagar, April 12: The People's Party of Aruchal (PPA) while expressing shock over the imposition of AFSPA, by the ministry of home affairs in 12 districts of the state bordering Assam, termed the act as nothing less than ked rape of democracy, dictatorial and against the very ethos of the quasi federal character of the Indian constitution. "The people of the state along with all the right based organizations condemn this act and the PPA vows to leave no stone unturned in its fight against this wrongful imposition of the act," retorted PPA CWC Chairman, Kamen Ringu during a party meeting here, Saturday.

"This is a deliberate insult to the most peace loving state of the tion, who are so patriotic in their thought and approach in spite of being culturally and ethnically so akin and close to the Tibetans and Chinese living across the Mach Moan Line," he added.

PPA Secretary General, Kaling Jerang, speaking on the occasion said, "While the Modi government, at the centre was being initially applauded for his agenda of ushering in an era of democratic decentralization through NITI Ayog with special care towards the development of North Eastern States, this unilateral imposition of an unlawful Act in the State proves the double standard political ideology of central government, towards NE States." "The need of hour is for all political party cutting across party lines to come together under a single platform along with all the civil organizations active in the state, university scholars and students in demanding for immediate withdrawal of this most unpopular Act, he added. The PPA in its party meeting has unimously resolved to stage a democratic peaceful protest rally against this draconian act on April 15 next at the capital starting from Banderdewa to Chimpu.
