Inter School Marathon Held In Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: The Golden Jubilee Inter School Marathon, Run For Peace, organized by Niranjan School to mark its Golden Jubilee Celebration was flagged off by the Chief Guest commanding officer 9th Battalion Rajputana Rifles,Colonel Mukesh Pandey amidst presence of MLA, Dibrugarh, Prasanta Phukan, Ward Commissioner, of Ward No 15, Tushar Chowdhury, Retired Principal Of Government Boys HS School, Arun Saikia, Prof. Salt Brook School, Pankaj Konwar,Rector R.A Junior College, Dr Raghunath Borbora, Advisor to R.A Junior College, Dr Sewali Borbora , Secretary, Handball Association, Dibrugarh, Gautam Das. Ajay Kr Baruah, Chairman of Niranjan School, Jinty Agarwala Baruah, Director of Niranjan School, Umananda Saikia, Principal of Niranjan School, Dr.Meghna Mallick, Principal of R.A Jr. College were also graced the flagging off ceremony.

More than 15 schools participated in the run. Before the marathon started, a condolence was observed for the Pulwama Bravehearts. Jinty Agarwala Baruah welcomed the Chief Guest, present dignitaries, teachers and participants.

The Marathon was judged by the Sports Officials, Surajit Gogoi, Pranamika Baruah and Jayanti Chiring of the District Sports Association Dibrugarh. The event was a grand success under the special guidance of . Gautam Das, Secretary of Handball Association Dibrugarh.

In the Boys’ category, the Winner was Prince Das from Niranjan School, the 1st Runners up was Bhagyajyoti Saikia from St.Xavier’s School and the 2nd Runners up was Binoy Paul Dhar from Don Bosco H.S School. In the girls’ Category, the Winner was Saheba Ahmed from Shishu Bharati School, the 1st Runners up was Geetanjali Baishya from Govt.Girls’ H.S School,and the 2nd Runners up was Mayur Pankhi from Govt.Girls H.S School.
