Intertiol Ved Conference concludes at Gamiri

Biswath Chariali, March 19: The Intertiol Ved Conference concluded successfully at Adi Shankeracharya Kshetra at Gamiri under Gohpur subdivision in Biswath district on Sunday. 
The conference commenced on March 16 with a four-day long programme under the aegis of Sriguru Shankeracharya Ved Vidyalaya and Maharshi Sandipani Rastriya Vedvidya Pratisthan, Ujjayini. The conference got under way with flag hoisting followed by a colourful cultural procession that moved around the greater Gamiri area. Bihu Hunchari, Mising Ainitom, Nepali Sangini, Bangla Kirtan, Aruchali Nichi culture and bhao added flavour to the procession on day one. 
The second day’s programme started with Yoga-Prayam and Ved Poojan in which around 65 Veda experts coming from different parts of the country enchanted Veda-slokas. It was followed by the iugural session of the conference where the conference was declared open by Tulasi Charan Upadhyaya. A good number of experts in Veda from abroad and the country, including Dr Achan Budha Charan from Thailand, Nich Garde from Serbia, Dr Luchi Gert from England, SA scientist Dr Om Prakash Pandey from the USA, Swami Pur Satye from the Netherlands, Dr Hari Prasad from Verasi, and Additiol Deputy Commissioner and SDO (C) in-charge Gohpur subdivision, Sanjay Dutta took part in the iugural session. In their speeches, the experts dwelt at length on the importance and contribution of the Vedas in the growth of civilization. Semirs on the significance of the Vedas were held in the afternoon. Veda scholars Dr Mallikarjun BS from Kartaka, Sanchala Pathak from Jaypur, Dr Arun Kumar Acharya, Manish Kumar Dube, Stifonia Lorenge from Germany, Dr Blenko Chichik from Serbia, Nripen Sharma, former Principal of Guwahati Sanskrit College, Additiol Superintendent of Police, Singharam Mili, Biswath MLA Pramod Borthakur, among others, presented their expertise on the four Vedas. The session was presided over by Dr Hari Prasad Upadhyay, Associate Professor of Sampurnda Sanskrit University of Verasi. 
Discussions on the subject matter of Vedas were held on the third day too. A souvenir entitled Vedamrit, edited by Pur Kumar Sharma was also released on the occasion. The four-day long conference came to an end on Sunday with the concluding session chaired by Sri Sri Jardan Dev Goswami, Xatradhikar of Uttar Kamalabari Xatra. The session was attended by State Minister for Irrigation, Handloom and Textile, Ranjit Dutta, Gohpur MLA Utpal Borah, Biswath Deputy Commissioner Asitaksha Chakravarty, Additiol Deputy Commissioner and SDO (C) in-charge Gohpur subdivision Sanjay Dutta, among others.
