Intertiol Women's Day observed at Gaurisagar

GAURISAGAR, March 10: Intertiol Women’s Day was observed at Gaurisagar. ba Seuji NGO, Gaurisagar organized the day in associated with SHGs at the  Gaurisgar weekly market complex recently. The day-long programme started with lighting of lamp by Bulumoni Goswami of Puniya Xatra. Later a procession was taken out throughout the NH-37 Gaurisagar. Subhadra Borah of Bosistha Ganga Lekhika Samarooh Samiti flagged it off.  In the evening an open session-cum- symposium was held on the topic ‘The role of women in formation of society in present day context’. Renubala Changmai, noted litterateur of Axom Lekhika Samarooh Samiti conducted it. Dr. Arundhati Mahanta, Associated Professor and Head, Assamese Department, Gargaon College and Swar Jyoti Boruah Borborah, recipient of best organizer of Axom Sahitya Sabha took part in the symposium as appointed speakers.
