Irate mob burns down Tata Winger

KOKRAJHAR, May 10: A Tata Winger bearing registration no. AS-01DC-0332 coming from Kokrajhar town was burnt by an irate mob at Elasijhar near Kokrajhar after it hit a school student. Local people said the Tata Winger was on its way to Dotma from Kokrajhar with passengers when it hit Bikash Mashahary, a student of Class VII of village Kawabilw at Elasijhar at around 3.30pm on Thursday. Mashahary sustained serious injuries on the head, ear and nose and was immediately taken to MRM Memorial Hospital, Kokrajhar for treatment.

Later, an irate mob burnt the Tata Winger. However, the police did not admit whether it was burnt by the public or not. The vehicle was burnt completely when fire tender reached the spot. Senior police officials rushed to the spot.
