Irregularities in PDS: Debolal seeks CBI probe

HAFLONG, March 21: Debolal Gorlosa, Member of N C Hills Autonomous Council representing the Dehangi constituency has filed an FIR against Kedar Maibangsa, secretary of Cooperative Society and S T Jem Hrangkhol, Executive Member of N C Hills Autonomous Council at Haflong Police Station today in connection with the alleged anomalies in public distribution system (PDS).

Gorlosa in the FIR alleged that that the people of Dehangi constituency were deprived of PDS items for several months as Kedar Maibangsa in connivance with S T Jem Hrangkhol has sold out the PDS items at Haflong market depriving the people of Dima Hasao from their dues. He also demanded a CBI probe into the matter.

Sandesh Sengyung, a villager while talking to this correspondent said the villagers not only of Dehangi constituency are deprived of  PDS items but also a sizable people of the district completely deprived of PDS items due to irregularities. Gorlosa said that he found these irregularities when he inquired the matter following the complaints from the villagers of Dehangi recently. He also demanded immediate and stern action against the culprits who have stched away people's food for their persol gains.
