Jagustiyo Geetor Kormoxala to boost cultural brotherhood

Dibrugarh, June 14:  The socio-cultural organization Shruti Shilpi Samaj (SSS), aiming at boosting the cultural brotherhood and identity of the Assamese people, for the first time,  will be organizing Jagustiyo Geetor Kormoxala here at the Lakhshmith Bezbaruah Bhavan on July 11.

In the workshop, the participants will be trained in songs of Mising, Nepali and tea community by well-known vocalists Pabitra Kumar Pegu, Dipti Rani Pegu, Dulal Manki and Tilak Newar, who as resource persons will be attending the aforesaid practicum on ethnic songs.

Moreover, a modern dance workshop is also slated to be organized on the same platform. The dance direction will be given by recognized dance director, Abhikshi Sonowal. An art exhibition showcasing the painting skills of artist Lee Borthakur will also be held.

 On July 16, under the joint initiative of Shruti Silpi Samaj and Duliajan Club, a colorful cultural evening titled ‘Shrutimala’ will be organized.  Alongside the cultural function, a souvenir titled Jakristi will be released, stated the president and secretary of SSS, Dr Birendra th Borthakur and Chandan Pathak,  respectively, in a press communiqué.
