Jaintia Hills NGOs oppose SP's transfer

Shillong, April 26:  Seven NGOs from Jaintia Hills have strongly opposed the State Government’s decision to transfer the Superintendent of Police (SP) East Jaintia hills district Nazarius  Lamare on grounds that he has been posted as the SP of the area for only 10 months. In a joint statement issued here today, the NGOs including the All Jaintia Students Union (AJSU), Ri Jaintia Youth Federation (RJYF),  Jaintia Students Union (JSU),  Hynniewtrep National Youth Federation, HNYF east Jaintia Hils,  Jaiñtia Student Movement (JSM) East Jaintia National Council (ENJC), Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) East Jaintia have said that the Government wants to transfer the SP who has been posted  in the area for only 10 months while as per the rules, the tenure of the SP posted in an area is for three years.

 In this respect the seven NGOs yesterday sent a memorandum to the office of the Home Minister, James Sangma and Minister in-charge Social Welfare Department Kyrmen Shylla   demanding a halt to the order of transfer of the SP.
