ITANAGAR, July 23: The Jan Sunwai Sammelan (JSS) was organized by Papum Pare district administration to facilitate services to people under government schemes at their doorstep (Sarkaar Aapke Dwaar) at Jote Law College on Monday.

JSS was inaugurated by the Head Gaonburi, Jote Nabam Yasing, in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda, Superintendent of Police Tumme Amo and all heads of department, administrative officers and the general public.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda visited the counters and directed all HoDs to facilitate services to the citizens in the best possible manner. At counter of Department of Fisheries DC Dr. Beda, along with SP Tumme Amo, distributed 2000 free fish seeds among ten progressive fish farmers selected under Sangdupota Circle. Progressive Farmers Nabam Nikter and Gollo Talo were also awarded by the Deputy Commissioner.

He also distributed prizes to winner of ‘Baby Show’ organized by Women and Child Development Department, Papum Pare, toppers of Class XII and X CBSE Exams under Sangdupota and Free LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).

A massive turnout was witnessed in the counter of health departments wherein 215 people registered and screened under Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) for lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease along with ECG facilities and BMI, blood haemoglobin and grouping facility, RBS test, including toxins Analysis and eye screening test.

Under National Vector Born Diseases Control programme awareness on prevention of malaria, dengue and spot blood slide collection were facilitated.

Under National Health Mission, awareness on family planning and IDCF were also conducted by free distribution of ORS, albendazole, tablets, condoms, pregnancy test kits and IEC materials. Under Dulari Kanya Scheme 14 beneficiaries were also selected.

Economics and Statistics Departments also received 395 Adhaar applications where 116 have been enrolled and updated. The department also issued 14 birth certificates. Department of Food and Civil Supplies facilitate services like issuance of new ration cards application forms, renewal, transfer, surrender and renewal of FPS licenses.

Other services provided on the occasion were ST certificates, birth certificates, renewal of arms licenses, new account opening, passport verification, driving license, status of land allotment, LPC and many more services, including legal awareness. Over 30 departments offered their service under one roof.
