DAPORIJO: Showing strong resentment over the infringement of franchise at Soki polling station of 24 Daporijo Assembly Constituency, the Janata Dal (United) (JDU), Daporijo unit on Thursday organized a rally near the district Deputy Commissioner’s Office demanding repoll.

A-17 member delegation from the Daporijo JDU unit also submitted a representation to the Returning Officer (RO)-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) alleging infringement of adult franchise in the Soki polling station on April 11, during the State Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, and demanded repoll.

The representation letter stated that BJP workers did not allow a group of 17 voters from the JDU to cast their votes on the day, threatened voters and warned them not to complain about it to the election authorities.
