Jatiya Vidyalaya's foundation day at Golaghat

GOLAGHAT, Jan 6: The 17th foundation day of Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya was observed on Tuesday. In the programme, the newly-constructed main gate was iugurated by State PWD Minister and local MLA Ajanta Neog. The main gate was made in memory of one of the founder members of Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya, Kandarpa Kumar Tamuli, by his family members. A rest house in the school campus, made with aid from the Golaghat Panchayat, was also iugurated by Minister Ajanta Neog. After the iugural ceremony a meeting was held which was presided over by Golaghat District Congress Committee president and secretary of the school maging committee, Dr Ajit Baruah. The family members of the founders of Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya and the rank holder students were felicitated. Minister Ajanta Neog spoke about the importance and relevance of vercular medium schools and praised the role playing by Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya in academics and extra-curricular activities.

The Headmistress of Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya, Toru Gogoi, members of the academic and maging committee and several well-wishers, teachers and students were present in the meeting. A cultural programme was also performed by the students on the occasion.
