Jaya ME School celebrates silver jubilee

MAHMORA, April 7: Jaya ME School, located at Jaya gar in Sori celebrated its silver jubilee with two-day programme on April 3  & April 4.  The programme started with hoisting of flag by Sub -Divisiol Officer (Civil) rrayan th. School Magement Committee president Prafulla Baruah and Dimbeswar Gogoi offered smriti tarpan.  The cultural programme was iugurated by Bhakta Newar, president of Asom Gorkha Sanmilan's Sivasagar district committee. Dr Ra Konwar , professor of Sori College and Lohit Gogoi, Associate Professor of Sori Commerce College attended in the semir held at 12.30 pm on the first day of the programme. State Education Minister Sarat Borkotoky attended as chief guest in  the open session, which was held on the second day of the event. The Education Minister in his speech said that a total of 6000 primary schools of the State will be provincialised  soon. He said that no further permission will be issued for setting up of new schools in the State. Borkotoky said that the venture schools of the State will be provincialised in a phased manner in the next fincial year.  The open session was also attended by Arun Baruah, writer and professor of Moran Mahila Mahabidyalaya and Sushil Suri, professor of Sori College.  The souvenir-Jaya Jyoti, published on the occasion , which is edited by Dilip Raut, Kalpa Baruah and Shristi Bakul Binita, was released by former professor Sonmai Bora. Heramba Prasad Bhuyan, Headmaster of the school, offered the vote of thanks.
